(Rus)  On 6 June 1941 Winston Churchill visited West Raynham to review the RAF's latest bombers. The first squadrons equipped provided a Stirling and a Halifax, and a recently received Boeing Fortress was also displayed. Wg Cdr R. W. P. Collings, CO of No 35 Squadron, demonstrated Halifax L9506/TL:X for the Prime Minister. Ten nights later L9506 was shot up by a night fighter over Hanover and struggled back to crash-land at Bircham Newton. (IWM H10315)
